SEASON OVERVIEW

Overview of the season. Details will be released in the Phoenix Calendar or DPNA Calendar as they are released

  • Registration: Opens January
  • Grading/Trials: mid February  |  For players aged 10 years to Opens - consists of 2-3 sessions
  • Teams Day: end February/early March  |  Meet and Greet teams, Identify Coaches & Managers, Training night
  • Training commences: early March
  • Draw released: mid April
  • Season commences: end April

  • Umpire Appreciation Round
  • Phoenix Fundraising Day
  • 7/8/9 years Season finishes: mid August
  • Finals: mid-late August
  • Presentation night: early September

PARKING

Please be aware that parking at Downey Park can be quite challenging at times. Families are reminded to leave early and allow enough time to secure a park.

NETBALL CONNECT (Player Attendance, Scoring)

  • Each team must provide a scorer for every game. 
  • The Home team (or first listed team on Netball Connect) must score the game on their phone or other device. 
  • The Away team (or second listed team) must stand with the scorer from the other team to observe their scoring.
  • Managers (or coaches) are able to assign any club member who is registered on Netball Connect to score. 
  • Team Managers (or coaches) must confirm team attendance on the Netball Connect app PRIOR to the first hooter. 
  • Note: You are able to confirm team attendance up to 1 week prior to the game. 
  • If you have any concerns recording Player Attendance, Player Positions of the Score - Please take a screenshot and go to the Downey Park control desk on the day if you have any concerns.

FORFEITING

  • (Coaches) If your teams is ubale to find substitutes need to forfeit, please email Registrar at registrar@phoenixnetball.org.au no later than the Thursday before or Friday morning at the latest, as we need to inform Downey Park by 10am on the Friday.
  • If we do not advise DPNA before 10am, the club will receive a fine and that fine will be passed onto your team.

GAME DAY

Please ensure players

  • Wear complete uniform (Dress, Bike Shorts, White socks)
  • Wear appropriate footwear
  • Trim fingernails, remove jewellery
  • Bring a water bottle, especially for those first few games as they are always generally still hot days.  
  • Arrive at least 30 mins (or as required by the coach) before the game ready to warm up
